Ernie D's Buy-A-Tank Program - The Story

It all started over at wisconsinnorthwoodsliving.com's discussion board. In late 2007, some members over there were talking about the rapidly rising price of diesel fuel and the effect on grooming activity. Then, someone who goes by the handle

"Ernie D" had an idea. He said he was impressed by the great condition the Barnstormers' trails were in, and was willing to throw in $200 for a tank of fuel. Surely other people who care about snowmobiling would be willing to do the same, he reasoned.

Since then, the program has expanded to three levels:

The Three Levels of Ernie D's Buy-A-Tank Program

Gold

$175 to $200. You get two club pins, two club stickers, a family membership, and your name on the honor roll.

Silver

$125 to $150. You get two club pins, two club stickers, and your name on the honor roll.

Bronze

$50 to $100. You get your name on the "Buy-A-Tank" honor roll, and a club pin.
